LETS HAVE SOME FUN........Free Digi stamp to play with

Hello Everyone!

So I received this wonderful note on my Etsy Site from Mel who asked if I had a free stamp on my blog for people to try out. So it got me thinking I should do this and maybe take it one step further and come up with a new digi stamp each month to give away and see what my followers would do with it.....so starting this month I am going to give away a FREE STAMP and I would like to see what you do with it. That's right I am having a challenge take the stamp below and create anything you want with it then either post a coment to this link with a link back to the design on your blog or you can email it to me at fripperiesandbutterflies@gmail.com and I will post them all on the 1st of December along with the name of the winner (who will be selected at random) who will win a $15 shopping spree at my Etsy shop POPPYSEED GRAPHICS. NEW WORKS......Stop and Smell the roses

So as alot of you may know I am challenging myself each month to complete at least 1-3 new works of art and this month I completed a piece entitled stop and smell the roses. I was inspired by some of my favorite works of art on this one and as with most of my work love the hair...I think I do long hair because mine is short! Hope you enjoy her. FLASH BACK FRIDAY......On Thursday?!

So I thought each Friday I would do a flash back at one of my old works so you can see how I got where I am today! And today thought it might be fun to share my Arwen and Aragorn piece. So like alot of artist when the Lord of the Rings movie came out I was inspired to illustrate and so this is what imerged. More inspired by the book than than the movie it became another of the pieces from my "Romance through the Ages".

NEW ART........NEW ADVENTURES

So I h and have decided to challenge myself and do 3 new pieces a month!
Why three? Well for the simple fact that I want to get back on the horse and get things started again and that seems like a doable number...not to many....just enough to feel like I accomplished something.
This month I did Apollo con here in Houston and though many of you are going Apollo what? Hey at least it is a convention and it is getting me back in the swing of things, my big plan is to ease back into doing the convention circut again and this is a show I do each year. So this year I had big plans to unveil my new Dragon collection called THE SENTINELS well that did not happen but I would rather not rush them and have them come out exactly as I envision them. So my plan is to unveil them in January of 2016.
So I know a lot of you have been following me on Etsy....Facebook....Pintrest and here and some of you may know I have been suffering with artist block for a number of years which was in part to a bought of serious depression due to loosing a lot of my works when hurricane Ike moved through Houston (we had 65% of our house damages and part of which was a lot of my prints, originals and most of my supplies) a lifetime of work destroyed in a single night but I am slowly pulling myself from the ashes and this is where I will chronicle my rebirth. So I invite you to check back because I will post new works.....works in progress and let you know what shows I am doing. So I take a deep breath and leap off the cliff into the unknown and lets see what will come of it. For now here are my three pieces for June.

PAY IT FORWARD WITH ORIGINAL ART BY LEANNE SEED

So some of you may not know it but in addition to doing illustration work. IAlso I started working at the YMCA in Katy Texas last year in April, and over the past year I have discovered how much good this institution does for the community. All the workers donate a percentage of their pay check to the YMCA's annual campaign and we do it gladly. Working in Membership Services I see where this money goes...to the families who are struck by hard times, those who cannot afford to send their children to camp or need after school care for their children while they work. Or provide a safe place for older adults to find new friends. All the funds they raise through their annual campaign is through donations from workers, members, and people like you. So I want to do something to help their fund raising efforts so I have decided to raffle off one of my original art pieces. The piece below will be raffled off and 100% of the funds donated will go to the Katy Family YMCA Annual Campaigne. So from today February 6th until March 15th I will be asking anyone and everyone to make a donation to the fund and for every dollar donated you get an entry for a chance to win the piece below (It is worth $1500)....not to mention you are doing alot of good for families that come to the YMCA for help.
