Week 12 of artwork.......Dream Big

 This is the next piece in my beautiful dreamers collection this one is entitled Dream Big. I think life should be full of big dreams, it gives us a reason to move through life and grounds us to our childhood. Like chasing butterflies as children we chase dreams as adults and this is not a bad thing it gives us hope and happiness.

Week 10 of artwork.......She believed she could

So this is the next piece in my beautiful moments collection this piece was inspired by all the beautiful and amazing women that battle breast cancer each year. I look forward to the day that we no longer have this plight on our society.

Week Nine of Art.......Sparkle and Shine

This week I am sharing another piece done for my Beautiful Moments color book. This one is entitled Sparkle and Shine. I feel everyone has this in them a little sparkle and a little shine and I think we should let it out more often to radiate the world around us!

Week Eight of Art........New Series Jewelry Box

So I have dreamed up my next series entitled "Jewelry Box" each image will be inspired by a precious stone. My first image is based on my birthstone the Garnet and each design will be art nouveau inspired and feature the stone and a fairy. It has been agaes since I did a fairy collection and thought this would be a fun way to start a new one. Each image will be done in inks, pastels and acrylics and I will finish this one in 2020 so check back!

Week Seven of Art.........Be Brave

This piece is another one for my Beautiful Moments color book and it is called be brave. Bravery comes in so many forms. Some days it is just getting up and moving each day and for those people who dont see themselves as brave and bold just remember bravery comes in many shapes and forms!

Week Six of Art........It's Christmas time

So this week I started planning my Christmas card series, I am also thinking this might be a fun coloring book to offer as well. I love doing coloring books and seeing how others color and design my works. I know it is a tad early for Christmas being just two months ago was Christmas 2018 but in my opinion it is never to early.

Week 5 of Art: Let Nature in

This week I am a wee bit late on my art piece though to me it was totally worth the wait. I know it is really easy to find inspiration in nature so many artist do, but for me it has always been a comfort a place where I can feel free and get lost in the sights, sounds and smells. It was because of this that I created my next piece entitled "Lost in Nature". Such strength comes from the elements found in nature and I wanted to capture that feeling. this was my first time drawing an owl and I think it turned out okay. what I plan to do with this piece is create it using inks, pastels and acrylics so stay tuned for next year when I start completing the works I am sketching this year.

WEEK 4 OR ART..........Be Kind

Well I did it and made it through my first month doing and illustration a week. This week I did another piece for my color book project BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS and this piece is entitled "kindness" now the crazy thing is I feel that this is something that you just dont see enough of in this day and age and if we can do justone kind thing for someone each day that would be awesome. So hers is what I propose if we do something kind perhaps it will become contageaous and everyone we are kind to will pass it on. Or maybe share kindness by sharing something beautiful that you created.

Week Three of a year in art.....Finding your joy

This is the next illustration in my new color book BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS. This piece is called finding joy which I think is a very important thing to do in life. What ever makes you happy, or creates joy for you I say reach for it and embrace it. I have to admit that I had lost my way for the years before this one and the path lead me further and further from my art path. This year with each piece I draw I am finding myself......my joy.....and my happiness.

Week Two of a year of art.......Winds of Spring

This sketch has inspired a new collection entitled Lotus Blossoms it will be an 8 piece set of illustrations with an asian inspiration. As alot of you all know I love to incorporate movement into my works as well as flowing fabrics and hair so this set will be no different but will help me tell a story of renewal and blooming!

The title of this piece is Winds of Spring.

As I said I will showcase mainly sketches this year but if I finish a piece I will pop in and show it as well. Please let me know what you all think!

Week Number One of the Year of Art Challenge

So that whole idea that I would not finish a piece flew right out the window and I was inspired to ink in the image I created this week. I thought I would like to go back to creating coloring books being I have had a number of buyers from the past contact me regarding this. So this is the 4th piece in my Beautiful moments color book.
So I guess it is safe to say that I am doing a challenge within a challenge and have now challenged myself by years end to finish this color book so I am going to do a total of 15 images for the book so I only have 11 more to go. I welcome your comments each week on the images I am doing this helps me get better and encourages me to keep going!
